Bringing the Voice of Nature to QNDCC 2025

From coral reefs to sharks, from biodiversity to climate literacy, our team proudly brought nature’s voice to the Qatar National Dialogue on Climate Change (QNDCC 2025) which took place in Doha, Qatar this October.

This year, we played an active role in capacity building and climate education, leading interactive workshops designed to make complex climate–biodiversity connections accessible, engaging, and human. Our scientists lead nature focused workshops on ecosystems such as coral reefs and species such as sharks of Arabia. One of the highlights was our community engagement and Bahraini youth-led workshop, the Climate Fresk, where participants explored through play, dialogue, and systems thinking, the deep interconnections between people, ecosystems, and the climate system.

The energy in the room reminded us why these spaces matter. Learning became collective, curiosity replaced overwhelm, and participants from across sectors shared perspectives rooted in lived experience, science, and hope. We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined our sessions and contributed to this shared moment of reflection and action.

In parallel to the capacity workshops, informative and engaging panel discussions were being held. During the blue economy session, our founder, Dr. Reem AlMealla delivered a message that lies at the heart of our work, she highlighted the need for a regenerative vision, not just a sustainable one. She further urged participants by saying “We must shift our mindsets from being extractive to regenerative.”

This principle also guides Nuwat’s mission to harmonize people and planet by grounding decision-making in science, local knowledge, and long-term ecological resilience. In a region shaped by the sea, re-imagining our relationship with marine ecosystems is not optional, it is essential.

In closing, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Earthan and Qatar Foundation for the invitation, trust, and continued leadership in advancing climate dialogue across the region. It was especially meaningful to share the Bahrain Pavilion alongside 3BL Associates, Diversity On Board and Symbaiosys, a collective reflection of the diversity, collaboration, and optimism shaping a regenerative Gulf.

QNDCC 2025 reaffirmed the power of regional dialogue, youth engagement, and knowledge-sharing in building climate-ready societies. At Nuwat, we remain committed to amplifying nature’s voice, strengthening climate literacy, and translating science into action. Here’s to continuing the conversation and to building the knowledge and courage we need for a regenerative future.
