Launch of FinSight Bahrain

We finished the year STRONG as December witnessed the launch of Finsight Bahrain, the first research project and initiative of its kind in the Kingdom dedicated to understanding and conserving Bahrain’s shark and ray populations. As part of this program, our team has launched its citizen science call for applications, inviting passionate volunteers to join us in making a difference. The last month of the year saw us kickstart our fish market surveys to gather critical data on local shark and ray species while deploying our pilot BRUVS (Baited Remote Underwater Video Systems) into our waters, marking an important milestone in monitoring and understanding the distribution and behavior of sharks and rays in Bahrain’s waters. This is just the beginning of a transformative journey in marine conservation!
