Inspiring the Next Generation of Nature Leaders: Nuwat at Youth City 2030

This summer, Nuwat had the pleasure of partnering with Youth City 2030 to deliver a series of interactive environmental workshops that invited young people, between the ages of 9 to 35, to explore Bahrain’s natural world through the eyes of an ecologist.

Across various hands-on sessions, participants discovered the fascinating world of bees, learned how scientists investigate ecosystems as “Nature Detectives,” and explored how their own passions and careers can contribute to building a nature-positive future.

At Nuwat, we believe that environmental education should be more than simply sharing facts, it should create experiences that spark curiosity and build lasting connections with nature. Whether participants were examining ecological photographs, discussing biodiversity, or learning about the importance of pollinators, every activity was designed to encourage observation, critical thinking, and a deeper appreciation of the natural world.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the programme was witnessing participants ask thoughtful questions, share their own ideas, and begin to see that conservation is not limited to scientists. Protecting nature requires educators, artists, engineers, communicators, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and citizens who care about the future of our planet.

We are incredibly grateful to Youth City 2030 for providing a platform that empowers young people to learn, grow, and discover new possibilities. Most importantly, we thank every participant who joined us with enthusiasm and curiosity, you reminded us why investing in environmental education is so important.

We are equally passionate about inspiring the next generation of environmental leaders and creating opportunities for people to experience, understand, and connect with nature.
